Community Fiber Overview

Sherpa Fiber is initially selecting up to 10 municipalities in which to build completely open fiber networks. We offer demand driven networks which is a fancy way of saying we build fiber networks where we see the strongest commitments from the city’s government and service providers expressing interest in entering a market. The more demand we see the more likely Sherpa Fiber will enter a community.

How do we get Sherpa Fiber in our community?

First of all, thank you for your interest! Secondly, we have tried to make the process as easy as possible. Not to sound like the old cliché, but it is easy as 1, 2, 3.

Blue Icon 3E-mail the completed CFD form to Info @ (remove the spaces). We will then contact you to schedule a time to visit, share more about Sherpa Fiber and our process, answer any questions you have about the discovery form, and most importantly learn about your community.

Okay, we admit this may be a bit of an over-simplification, but it really is not much more complicated than this. If you’re thinking about bonds, TIFs, special elections, etc., you may be over-thinking the opportunity. Sherpa Fiber is not proposing a public-private partnership or seeking incentives for the project. We are simply leasing fiber to the municipality who serves as the “anchor customer” necessary to satisfy our debt and equity partners. Pretty simple really.

NOTE: Only authorized municipality employees are to submit Community Fiber Discovery (CFD) forms. Businesses and residential customers are encouraged to complete the form at the bottom of our Business & Residential page. Community organizations should contact their city government to express interest in Sherpa Fiber building in your community.
